TUESDAY'S CHALLENGE...
Today we learned how to say "How are you?" and "I am fine!"
Watch Wallen, Ryley and Deziah practising while they make salt dough! O a mai oe? Manuia Faafetai
We are learning a Sasa! This is our first effort. We are going to practise every day. At the end of the week we will film it again and see if we have improved! We are Learning Forever!
We have spent all week learning the Maori legend "Maui and the Fish". We re-told the story...
One day Maui went fishing. He
threw his hook in to the sea. His hook was a jaw bone. He waited and he waited
for a very long time. He was very hungry. Suddenly his rope went in the water
and he pulled it up and he caught a stingray!
The stingray turned into the North Island of New Zealand. This is
why the North Island is called Te Ika-a-Maui (‘The Fish of Maui’).
It was so great to see all the lovely Superstar Snakes back at school today! I loved hearing about all the exciting things the Snakes got up to over the holidays. I was especially happy to hear about trips to the library and other learning that took place! We were excited to welcome some new friends to our class today... we are going to work hard to make them feel welcome and help them settle in to their new class!
